Ask HN: Good movies and series about startups?
4 points by kaizenb •
I've been watching movies and series about startups lately:

- Halt and Catch Fire - The Dropout - General Magic — The Playlist

I keep a list here (it's on ArtConnects, which I work on):

What am I missing? Documentaries welcome too.

To be fair, that really is about a startup, though that's an amusingly oddball way to categorise it, not to mention a niche category of business! Wouldn't have occurred to me to suggest it, but I quite like the thought now someone has. 1984.

I must say it hadn't aged all that well when we saw it fairly recently. Not horrible, just a bit slow paced and not quite as funny as I remembered it being.

Code Rush (2000). PBS documentary inside Netscape in the months before it open-sourced Mozilla

BlackBerry (2023). Plays like a comedy for the first half, then turns dark as the company gets big
