Ask HW: Best frontier AI model for mind map generation?
1 points by daitangio •
For my children, I need to generate mindmaps from image taken from books.

I want to use a frontier model (i.e. Claude, Mistral, ChatGPT, Grok...) but I want the most effective in terms of cost and quality.

I was not impressed so much by Mapify or NotebookLM.

Do you have some skills / suggestions / successful stories to share?

I don't use AI for my mind map, but if you're actually trying to map your mind, I recommend against using a frontier model. I recommend seeding the mind map by hand using open formats (ie: something markdown or org based) and then slowly introducing AI tools to automate the high friction mechanical processes you bump into.

The reason I recommend against a frontier model is that any halfway decent model (like, single card consumer GPU level models) can automate the mechanical processes of this kind of tasking.
